Photo of the Day: UNICEF - Family in Guinea-Bissau

Tebe-Zinho, Guinea-Bissau. A family uses a rudimentary log bridge to cross a stream on their way to the village of Tebe-Zinho, Guinea-Bissau in order for the children to receive vaccinations and other health services.
Political instability and deep poverty continue to limit economic and social development in Guinea-Bissau. The country has the world’s seventh-highest under-five mortality rate, and maternal mortality is also high. UNICEF works with the Government to support a variety of programes, including in health, nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene.
