Orphanage Burns in Indonesia; Matt Luce Pledges to Rebuild
Hong Kong. Given the global nature of our work, it's only natural that I write about Indonesia during a stopover between Delhi and New York. I write about something particularly close to my heart: my son, who inspired the second half of my life, the orphanage I found him in, its total destruction just a few days ago, and my now-adult son’s pledge to return to Indonesia to rebuild it.

As a parent, I cannot tell you how proud I am of my son. He has triumphed over learning difficulties, health challenges, and growing up not only with two dads, but divorced parents. This kid is made of steel, with impeccable social skills, and a heart so large New York City is too small to contain it. With Matt’s return to North Sulawesi, speaking both English and Indonesian, the circle is complete.
