Wayfair Accused of Selling Mattresses to Youth "Detention Centers"

Boston, MA. Employees of Wayfair accused the company of selling furniture to contractors that furnish detention facilities for children seeking asylum along the U.S.-Mexico border and made it clear they're not happy about it. After urging the company to stop selling to such contractors, the employees announced they planned a walk out.

The Stewardship Report sent an email asking, " Please comment on selling beds to Child Concentration Camps and your employees stand against this?"
The Twittersphere lit up quickly.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York City tweeted:
Wayfair workers couldn’t stomach they were making beds to cage children. They asked the company to stop. CEO said no. Tomorrow, they're walking out. This is what solidarity looks like - a reminder that everyday people have real power, as long as we’re brave enough to use it.
The Twittersphere lit up quickly, with users trashing this Boston-based corporation.
More than 500 employees signed a letter letting the company know it did not think supplying beds that made their way to the southern border was ethical, according to an unverified Twitter user called @wayfairwalkout. They also asked the company to establish a code of ethics.
Jim Luce, president of both Orphans International Worldwide and The J. Luce Foundation , two charities supporting children and young global leaders, said, "I encourage all of Moral America to call the company at (844) 750-1179 and commend their employees for being among the first in the U.S. to demand an end to this Trumpian evil on our Southern border."
He added, "These are not just American Concentration Camps for Children - they are now literally 'Death Camps.' The blood of innocent children is staining our Southern border, and white America does nothing because these kids are brown. But they do not cry in Spanish and they bleed red as all children."
